On day 7 of SOM2 and related events, the workshop on prevention and reduction of climate risks in vulnerable communities in Asia-Pacific began, focused on strengthening collaboration among stakeholders.

Workshop to improve prevention and risk reduction for adaptation to climate change in vulnerable communities in the Asia-Pacific region

The first day of the “Workshop to improve prevention and risk reduction for adaptation to climate change in vulnerable communities in the Asia-Pacific region” was held, conducted by the Environmental Assessment and Enforcement Agency (OEFA) within the framework of the Second APEC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM2). 

The event seeks to strengthen the capacity of APEC economies to anticipate, prevent, mitigate and prepare for disasters and extreme events associated with climate change through the exchange of good practices and the use of specialized technologies, such as early warning systems, and mapping vulnerable and dangerous areas in vulnerable communities.
