On Day 8 of the Second Senior Officials’ Meeting and Related Meetings (SOM2), discussions focused on strengthening collaboration among stakeholders working to address the impacts of climate change in the Asia-Pacific region continued.
Workshop on enhancing prevention and risk reduction for climate change adaptation in vulnerable communities in the Asia-Pacific Region”
During the second day of the “Workshop on enhancing prevention and risk reduction for climate change adaptation in vulnerable communities in the Asia-Pacific Region”, the think tanks of the APEC economies and specialized organizations emphasized the following conclusions so that readiness, response, and resilience are strengthened in the face of major disasters caused by climate change in the Asia-Pacific region:
- Importance to the work involvement of communities for decision making.
- Strengthening the cooperation between the public, private, academic and civil society sector, and international organizations in the exchange of information.
- Contribution between Early Warning Systems of the economies to achieve an effective response in the face of disasters, as well as to execute the coordination plan.
